Warrikal is a dynamic, majority Aboriginal-owned, and operated business that has rapidly emerged as a formidable force in the resources and minerals sector of WA. The company established itself as a leading provider of maintenance, shutdown, and specialised project services, cementing its reputation as a trusted and efficient provider.
The Role
Reporting to the General Manager of Maintenance and Shutdowns, the Continuous Improvement Lead will drive operational excellence across mining operations by identifying, developing, and implementing site improvement initiatives.
In this high-profile, client-facing role, you will influence how we enhance and drive operational maintenance improvements in the Tier One space. This role is critical in fostering a culture of continuous improvement to improve safety, efficiency, and productivity, with a commitment to cost savings across mine sites.
About You
You will hold a degree or trade qualification in a related field, with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in mining, heavy industry, or a manufacturing sector. At least three (3) of those years should have been in a business improvement or operational excellence role, focused on site-based improvements. A Lean, Six Sigma and/or equivalent improvement certification would be highly desirable.
With hands-on knowledge of mining processes and shutdowns, you will be analytical and able to support your arguments with data for value propositions. You will possess effective presentation skills, capable of engaging and influencing clients and other key stakeholders with a pragmatic and resilient approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and develop scopes and comprehensive project plans
- Contribute to value propositions, tenders, implementation plans, constructability strategies, and material management plans, focusing on HSEQ, and schedules
- Lead the continuous improvement strategy aligned with corporate objectives
- Facilitate Lean and Six Sigma projects to eliminate waste, improve throughput, reduce variability, and enhance quality
- Partner with various departments to identify performance gaps and lead structured problem-solving initiatives
- Analyse operational data and KPI's to identify improvement opportunities
- Provide coaching, training, and mentoring in CI tools and techniques
- Standardise and support the implementation of best practices across departments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage change and stakeholder buy-in
- Track and report on continuous improvement initiatives, including ROI and benefits
- Competitive payment rates
- Work in a team that values your growth and contribution
- Work alongside experienced professionals dedicated to your success
- Cultivate skills, enhance knowledge and gain experience
- Recognition, rewards and ongoing professional opportunities
- Flexible work arrangements (conditions apply)
- Access to mental health support (EAP)
