QLS has a permanent full time opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join their Finance team.
The Finance team manages QLS's financial resources to support the delivery of services to members and ensure compliance with relevant laws and standards. The team is responsible for providing accurate and timely financial information, managing revenue and receivables, processing payments including payroll and vendor transactions, and overseeing the organisation's assets. This role supports the Finance Manager and Senior Financial Accountant in delivering financial and management reporting, contributing to high-quality financial services that strengthen QLS's finance function.
Responsibilities- Support accounts receivable, month-end processes, and bank reconciliations across QLS.
- Prepare and reconcile nominated balance sheet accounts and process journals, accruals, and prepayments, resolving any variances.
- Assist with payroll processing, maintenance of fixed assets, external audit and annual financial reporting requirement.
- Contribute to financial policy updates, compliance tasks, and system improvement initiatives.
- Provide backup support to the Finance Team and help train temporary staff during peak periods.
- Up to 4 years' experience in a corporate or accounting firm environment.
- Solid understanding of accounting standards, principles, and practices.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with a track record of meeting deadlines.
- Advanced Excel skills, including data extraction and manipulation.
- Experience with ERP systems (preferably Business Central) and building effective stakeholder relationships.
