The Role

Sharp & Carter are proud to partner with a national brand for the recruit of an Assistant Accountant. This position is suitable for a professional seeking to step into an Assistant Accountant role or join an organization that offers long-term growth and development.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive and collaborative environment where employees thrive, grow, and build long-term careers. Reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant, you will assist in various accounting tasks to support the finance function.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include

  • Perform bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Assist in the preparation of month-end and year-end financial close processes.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Support the finance team in cost analysis and profitability reporting.
  • Help prepare financial reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Support the preparation and submission of BAS, GST, FBT, PAYG, and other tax obligations.
  • Assist in preparing statutory financial statements in compliance with standards.
  • Support the team in financial audits and compliance reviews.

About You

To succeed, you will have:

  • Previous experience as an Assistant Accountant, Accounts Officer, Finance Officer, etc.
  • CA/CPA enrolled, partial, or full qualification.
  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Strong Excel skills and familiarity with financial reporting tools.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Good communication skills for liaising with stakeholders.
  • Eagerness to learn and contribute to improvements.
