Overview

Coastal Engineer role at KBR, Inc.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of the most talented and respected engineering teams in Australia. Working within our National Maritime Team, you will be involved with design and planning activities for large-scale multi-discipline maritime facilities for industries including defence, local government, state government, ports, and sustainability (hydrogen terminals). You will be supported by and work with a range of other disciplines across KBR and partners. The role may involve projects such as large-scale clean energy and harbour infrastructure, wharf and port infrastructure, and remediation of public assets.

While you may know some high-profile projects, we do much more than just defence. This role leverages your coastal engineering experience to deliver from concept designs through to construction phase support, with opportunities to grow leadership and business development skills through project management and proposal tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Leverage coastal engineering experience (modelling, dredging, coastal protection) to deliver concepts through construction support.
  • Contribute to design and planning for large-scale maritime facilities across multiple industries.
  • Assist with project management and proposal tasks to support business development.
Qualifications
  • Typically 2 to 5 years of experience with skills in design, evaluation and reporting on ports, harbours, coastal works and marine structures (wharves, jetties, port developments, marinas, seawalls, pontoons, dredging).
  • Experience or interest in coastal modelling software (desirable: DELFT-3D, SWAN, MIKE).
  • Familiarity with Australian design codes and guidelines.
  • Working towards Chartered Professional Engineer credentials.
  • Tertiary degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Eligibility for Australian Government security clearance.
