Overview

Risk and Resilience Advisor at City of Newcastle, Australia. This is a newly created permanent opportunity focused on disaster preparedness and resilience for the organisation and the wider community.

Responsibilities
  • Support the charge in building disaster preparedness and resilience across CN
  • Develop and integrate an all-hazards approach to disaster risk reduction
  • Embed resilience into policies, procedures and service delivery
  • Engage with internal teams and the community to promote preparedness and recovery strategies
  • Manage effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, from local emergency management committees to community organisations and government agencies
  • Contribute to emergency management plans, business continuity frameworks and crisis response strategies
  • Support policy development and strategic planning related to community safety and organisational resilience
