We're hiring: Finance Business Partner (Capital Projects)

Are you ready to use your financial expertise to drive real impact in your community? At Noosa Council, we're looking for a Finance Business Partner to join our Financial Services team and support our 10-year capital works program.

This isn't just a finance role, it's an opportunity to partner with leaders, shape strategy, and influence outcomes. You'll transform complex data into insights that guide decisions and make a tangible difference across our organisation.

What you'll do

  • Partner with leaders to deliver high-quality budgeting, reporting, and management accounting.
  • Analyse large datasets and develop financial models to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Support the delivery of capital projects through robust forecasting, reporting, and financial advice.
  • Provide training and guidance to project managers and business leaders on financial systems and interpretation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, auditors, and grant agencies to ensure compliance, accuracy, and transparency.

What we're looking for

  • Degree in Accounting, Commerce, or a related discipline (CPA/CA highly regarded).
  • Proven experience in budgeting, management accounting, and financial reporting.
  • Advanced financial modelling and ERP system skills.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and collaboration skills.
  • Proactive, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Local government experience is desirable but not essential – if you're passionate about making an impact, we want to hear from you
