Overview

Opal Packaging Plus is an industry-leading packaging and consumables business based in Sydney, Pemulwuy, NSW. The role is Purchasing Officer, reporting to the Regional Procurement Manager. This is a pivotal supply chain role that is fast-paced and critical to DIFOT and customer satisfaction. The business aims to have the right stock at the right time, at the right price.

Responsibilities
  • Inventory replenishment and ongoing management for established stock items
  • Tactical sourcing and price negotiation for newly identified items
  • Vendor & item maintenance for items relevant to the branch
  • Local invoice matching to support the Accounts Payable process
  • Monitor supplier performance on an ongoing basis (DIFOT) (daily)
  • Support Customer Service with orders/enquiries from phone and email, including order entry
Qualifications
  • Previous experience within a procurement function
  • Proficiency in SAP or any other ERP system
  • Strong negotiation skills and success in implementation of outcomes
  • Solid communication and problem-solving skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience in inventory management
