Workplace Relations, Employment & Safety - Lawyer/Associate

The Role

A great career opportunity has arisen for an experienced Lawyer or Associate to join our Workplace Relations, Employment & Safety team in Sydney working alongside Rachael Sutton. This is an opportunity to move into a growing firm and work on high-end and often complex issues. In this role you will work across a range of matters including:

  • Assisting clients in drafting, interpreting and advising on employment agreements and company policies and procedures.
  • Advising on and managing industrial relations issues faced by clients.
  • Providing guidance on workplace issues including terminations, grievances and disciplinary processes, discrimination and work, health and safety compliance and investigations.
  • Interpreting employment legislation such as the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth), Work Health and Safety Act, 2011 (NSW)
  • Conducting litigation such as unfair dismissal, general protections, breach of contract claims and restraint matters (assisting)

Who We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Between 2-4 years of experience in employment law;
  • Relevant experience in drafting and advocacy at conciliation or directions hearings;
  • Strong analytical and written communication skills;
  • Confidence in managing client relationships and matters independently;
  • Passion for helping clients navigate complex workplace issues; and
  • A proactive and collaborative working style.
