ROLE DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a purpose-driven and experienced Fundraising & Marketing Manager to lead You Belong's income generation strategy, supporter engagement, and brand communications. This senior role combines project management, strategic development, and hands-on execution across key income streams: philanthropy, grants, corporate partnerships, peer-to-peer fundraising, and digital campaigns.

You'll work closely with the Founder and broader leadership team to refine and roll out a clear fundraising and marketing roadmap, strengthen donor relationships, and lead our communications and storytelling with heart and authenticity. There is significant scope for growth in this role, including evolving into a broader senior level leadership position for the right candidate.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Fundraising Strategy & Management

➔ Develop and implement a comprehensive multi-channel fundraising strategy aligned with our vision and growth goals.

➔ Oversee key revenue streams including:


• Major donor cultivation and stewardship


• Grants program (research, writing, acquittals)


• Corporate and community partnerships


• Peer-to-peer and community fundraising campaigns


• Recurring giving & bequests

➔ Maintain accurate donor records, pipelines, and engagement journeys using CRM tools (e.g., Raisely, Donor Box, Monday.com or equivalent).

➔ Lead prospect research, donor proposals, reporting, and donor recognition strategies.

➔ Track and report against fundraising KPIs and budgets.

Marketing & Communications

➔ Develop and manage brand-aligned communications and digital content strategy across platforms.

➔ Coordinate storytelling and campaign messaging that supports fundraising, program impact, and community engagement across social media, email newsletters, website, press, and video content.

➔ Collaborate with designers and freelancers for key creative assets on flagship campaigns and brand-critical projects.

➔ Lead digital campaign rollouts using tools such as Meta Business Suite, Canva, Squarespace, and Figma, etc.

➔ Ensure consistency of tone, visual identity, and messaging across all communication channels.

Project & Campaign Oversight

➔ Lead delivery of key annual fundraising and engagement campaigns (e.g. Move2Belong, Giving Tuesday, EOFY).

➔ Develop timelines, budgets, and implementation plans for projects across fundraising and marketing.

➔ Coordinate campaign teams, volunteers, and creatives to deliver high-impact activations.

Volunteer & Stakeholder Engagement

➔ Support recruitment and engagement of fundraising volunteers and campaign

champions.

➔ Provide leadership, coaching, and communications support to empower volunteer-led fundraising teams.

➔ Build strong relationships with community partners, collaborators, and sponsors.

Leadership & Organisational Contribution

➔ Work directly with the Founder to set fundraising goals, financial forecasts, and strategic priorities.

➔ Contribute to Board reporting, strategy, and budget planning.

➔ Mentor volunteers and contractors in marketing and communications functions.

➔ Play a leadership role in internal culture, innovation, and continuous improvement.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

➔ Minimum 5+ years' experience in fundraising, development, or marketing roles.

➔ Proven track record in income generation through diverse streams (grants,

partnerships, campaigns, events, donor programs).

➔ Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

and timelines.

➔ Excellent communication, copywriting, and stakeholder engagement skills.

➔ High-level digital literacy including experience with fundraising CRMs (e.g. Raisely, Monday.com), Squarespace or WordPress, Canva, and social media tools.

➔ Demonstrated leadership in managing teams, volunteers, or cross-functional projects.

➔ Highly values-aligned with You Belong's mission of social inclusion and empowerment.

➔ Self-starter, collaborative, flexible, and values-driven.

➔ Background in refugee support, community development, or cross-cultural engagement.

➔ Experience in managing digital fundraising campaigns or events.

➔ Experience with data analysis, reporting dashboards, and supporter journey mapping.
