Renumeration: MP Year 1-6 $575,277 - $684,457 p.a. (includes Arrangement A base salary $378,151 - $448,030 p.a., 12% employer contributed superannuation and professional development allowance $34,696 p.a.). Updated salary effective from 3 September 2025.

About The RoleAs a Consultant in Public Health Medicine, you will support the Public Health Manager, lead the disease control team, and guide strategies to protect and improve the health of the Kimberley population. You will provide public health and clinical medical expertise in the identification and management of communicable and non-communicable diseases, and other emerging public health issues.
This role operates in a multi-disciplinary, cross-cultural environment with a strong focus on Indigenous health and remote service delivery. Responsibilities include coordinating outbreak investigations and interventions, and collaborating with Aboriginal health staff and community-controlled health organisations to design programs aligned with local priorities. There may be a requirement to work across other hospitals and clinics within the Kimberley region.

Eligibility – Ideal Candidates Must Demonstrate- Unconditional general and specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Fellowship of the Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine (FAFPHM), or recognised equivalent.
- Willing to apply for a Medicare Provider Number.
- Willingness to be based in Broome for the duration of the contract.
- Current C Class driver's licence and willingness to travel including overnight stays away from home.
- Adaptable, culturally respectful, and committed to improving health outcomes for Aboriginal communities in the Kimberley.
- Relocation support available (subject to approval; case-by-case basis).
