The Parkville Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (PYMHWS) provides dedicated mental health care to young people aged 12-25 in Melbourne's north and west, along with their families, carers, supporters and kin. PYMHWS is Victoria's first standalone public mental health service built exclusively around young people's needs.

The Opportunity

MENTAL HEALTH CLINICIAN – YOUTH MOOD CLINIC (YMC)

The Role

The Mental Health Clinician provides clinical care and coordination within the Youth Mental Health Clinic (YMC), supporting young people aged 12–25 with severe mood disorders, bipolar disorder without psychotic features, and complex co-morbidities such as OCD and severe anxiety disorders, as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering evidence-based interventions.

What You'll Do
  • Complete timely mental health assessments, treatment plans, crisis interventions, and clinical documentation in line with PYMHWS standards.
  • Deliver high-quality, client-focused care aligned with best practice and PYMHWS values.
  • Provide or develop capacity for integrated care for dual diagnosis presentations.
  • Collaborate with young people, families, carers, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ensure care is evidence-based, inclusive, and culturally appropriate for diverse communities.
  • Liaise and partner with external services including AOD, Youth Justice, and primary care.
About You / Qualifications
  • Eligible disciplines: RPN Grade 3 / Occupational Therapist, Social Worker and Psychologist Grade 2
  • Relevant registration and qualifications (see position description for details)
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in clinical practice in the mental health field with young people
  • Experience in clinical assessment, risk management, and delivering specialist interventions for complex depression and anxiety
  • Experience or interest in OCD and/or Bipolar Disorder is highly desired
