Public Health Medicine Specialist

This is a fixed-term, full-time role for a Public Health Medicine Specialist in Western Australia. The successful candidate will work closely with the Public Health Manager, lead disease control teams and implement strategies to protect local populations' health.
The position operates in a multi-disciplinary environment with a focus on Indigenous health and remote service delivery. Responsibilities include coordinating outbreak investigations, collaborating with Aboriginal health staff and community-controlled health organisations to design aligned programs and working effectively in cross-cultural settings.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Public Health Manager in developing and implementing public health policies and strategies
- Lead the disease control team in identifying and managing communicable and non-communicable diseases
- Collaborate with Aboriginal health staff and community-controlled health organisations to develop and implement effective healthcare programs
- Unconditional general and specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia
- Fellowship of the Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine (AFPHM) or equivalent qualification
- Ability to apply for a Medicare Provider Number and maintain current registration as required
- Current C Class driver's license and willingness to travel including overnight stays away from home
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-cultural environments
