Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Public Health Medicine specialist to lead our disease control team and develop strategies to protect and improve the health of our diverse regional population.

This role operates in a multi-disciplinary, cross-cultural environment with a strong focus on Indigenous health and remote service delivery. Responsibilities include coordinating outbreak investigations and interventions, and collaborating with Aboriginal health staff and community-controlled health organisations to design programs aligned with local priorities.

About The Role
  • Provide public health and clinical medical expertise in the identification and management of communicable and non-communicable diseases, and other emerging public health issues.
  • Support the Public Health Manager in developing and implementing effective public health strategies.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care and improve health outcomes for the region's population.

Eligibility Criteria
  • Unconditional general and specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Fellowship of the Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine (FAFPHM), or recognised equivalent.
  • Willingness to apply for a Medicare Provider Number.
  • Ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse environment.
