Database Administrator (DBA)

Salary: Up to $120,000 for the right background

Location: Cleveland, Ohio

Reports to: Chief Technology Officer

What You'll Do as a Database Administrator
  • Tune and optimize queries to improve performance and scalability
  • Manage backups, restores, high availability, and disaster recovery strategies
  • Ensure database security, auditing, and compliance with industry regulations
  • Modernize legacy schemas, stored procedures, and ETL scripts
  • Partner with development teams to improve database design and efficiency
  • Architect modern data solutions including Data Lakes, Warehouses, and pipelines
  • Work with AWS services such as RDS, Glue, Athena, S3, and DMS for scalable solutions
  • Leverage automation and monitoring tools to streamline operations and improve reliability
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
What We're Looking For in our Database Administrator
  • 7+ years of experience as a DBA in SQL Server environments
  • Proven ability in performance tuning, query optimization, and schema design
  • Hands-on expertise with AWS RDS, DMS, Glue, Athena, and S3
  • Strong knowledge of HA/DR, backups, encryption, and compliance frameworks
  • Experience modernizing legacy systems and data structures
Bonus Points If You Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
  • Background in payments, financial services, or other regulated industries
  • Familiarity with Redshift, Snowflake, or Databricks
  • Experience with Docker or Kubernetes for data workloads
  • AWS or SQL Server certifications
  • Experience working with file transmissions on Linux
