Manager IT III

Location: Akron, OH

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Manager to join our team. This individual will play a pivotal role in overseeing the development of headless APIs and web applications. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of web development technologies, coupled with strong leadership skills to manage development teams effectively. In addition, the IT Manager will possess a solid understanding of cloud services, specifically AWS or Azure, to help guide the implementation of scalable, reliable, and cost-effective cloud solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Leadership & Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a diverse team of developers, ensuring that web applications are built to the highest standards and that team performance is maximized.
• Web Application Development: Lead projects to design and develop web applications using .NET technologies (C#, ASP.NET Core, etc.), SQL or NoSQL databases for backend data management, and any modern UI technologies such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Cloud Architecture: Oversee the migration, and maintenance of applications on cloud platforms like AWS or Azure. Ensure that applications are designed for scalability, performance, and reliability in the cloud.
• Solution Design & Architecture: Collaborate with other technical leads and business stakeholders to define system requirements, application architecture, and development strategies.
• Continuous Improvement: Implement and encourage best practices in software development, including CI/CD, code quality, testing, and automated deployment.
• Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for all technical aspects of web applications and provide regular updates to stakeholders on progress, risks, and opportunities.
• Troubleshooting & Support: Provide technical leadership for advanced troubleshooting support for critical application issues, identifying and resolving problems promptly.
  
  

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience: 10+ years of professional experience in IT management, with at least 6 years of hands-on experience in building web applications using Microsoft technologies, SQL Server, and front-end UI frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js).
• Technical Expertise:
  • Proficient in .NET Core, ASP.NET, C#, and related frameworks.
  • Solid experience with SQL Server, including database design, optimization, and management.
  • Hands-on experience with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js.
  • In-depth understanding of cloud platforms (AWS or Azure), with experience in deploying, managing, and optimizing applications in the cloud.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes is a plus.
• Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage technical teams, prioritize tasks, and deliver results within deadlines.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to handle complex technical challenges and find effective solutions.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, etc.).
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or Azure DevOps.
• Experience in IT project management and budget management.
