We are looking for a teacher with relevant experience to join a large dynamic team of educators and support staff at Alta-1 College.

About Alta-1 College

At Alta-1 we recognise that adverse life experiences can impact a student's sense of self-worth, motivation and capacity for learning, making engagement in a mainstream school setting difficult. As an independent, co-educational CARE (Curriculum and Reengagement in Education) School, Alta-1 is a Christian organisation that works with students from years 7-12. We provide students with wraparound support to guide them on a journey of recovery through a trauma-informed approach. This approach helps students acknowledge, confront, and resolve barriers that have impacted their ability to reach their full potential. We believe in fostering a highly relational environment where students, teachers and staff develop meaningful connections based on trust, respect and empathy. These relationships serve as the foundation for effective teaching and learning, allowing us to better understand and support the unique needs and aspirations of each student.

Your crucial role involves fostering positive relationships with various stakeholders, including parents, support staff, Alta-1 leadership, and student therapeutic teams, to promote the overall well-being and success of students. Effective and timely communication, particularly with parents, is vital, and your emotional and social intelligence will be valuable in handling challenging conversations for positive results.
• You are an innovative and trauma-informed educator. Your adaptability enables you to create personalised learning paths for your students, often diverging from conventional structures, prioritising their real-world engagement over formal education. Your innovative thinking and unwavering passion for student success infuse creativity into every interaction and conversation.
• You are an organisational and administrative specialist. Attention to detail is crucial for accurately documenting student activities, including mandatory, regulatory, and optional tasks. Your meticulous student records play a vital role in securing NCCD funding for Alta-1, sustaining the College's impactful initiatives. You'll juggle various resources, plan future activities, and navigate diverse learning management systems while guiding students on their path to recovery and transformation.
