Overview

Join to apply for the Teacher- Primary - Arts role at Department of Education, Western Australia.

This is a permanent part-time (0.4FTE) position commencing Term 1, 2026.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, teach, and assess an engaging, innovative Visual Arts program across Year 2 – Year 6, with a thorough understanding of the WA Arts curriculum.
  • Teach skills and techniques in ceramics, painting, sculpture, drawing, printmaking, textiles, and digital art.
  • Use assessment data to evaluate the effectiveness of teaching programs, set targets, and inform planning in Visual Arts for students across the school.
  • Strongly coordinate Visual Arts school exhibitions and develop links with community groups and external artists to enhance the school's Arts program.
Qualifications and Eligibility
  • Hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration.
  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
  • Apply for a WA Working with Children Check before you start; and
  • Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.
