Project Manager - Mechanical

We're working with a large industrial/chemicals manufacturing business. With a mix of automated production lines and complex process systems, the site manages a wide range of capital works, continuous improvement, and reliability projects, including work in hazardous environments.

Right now, they're looking for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager on a permanent basis to take the lead on several key upgrades and installations across the plant. This includes a major $5M filling line installation as well as managing a portfolio of smaller mechanical projects ($500k–$1M) at any one time.

You'll take projects from concept through to commissioning — scoping, managing contractors, driving timelines, and making sure everything is delivered safely and efficiently. The environment is fast-moving and safety-focused, so the ability to work collaboratively with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams is key.
Requirements:

Strong mechanical project management background within manufacturing, industrial, or process plant environments
Experience delivering equipment installation projects ($1M–$5M).
Ability to engage with engineers, trades, and senior leaders confidently — someone who can "talk the talk" technically
Mechanical design skills, with experience using AutoCAD to design components or modify equipment where required
Exposure to chemical processing, hazardous environments, or similar would be highly regarded
A proactive, hands-on leadership style — not managing a team but influencing many stakeholders
