About Blacktown International Sports Park (BISP)
Located along the Westlink M7, BISP is the premier elite training and playing facility in Western Sydney, opened in 2000 for the Sydney Olympic Games and expanding to include multiple sporting facilities across 54 hectares, such as Blacktown Football Park, Athletics, Cricket/AFL Precinct, Baseball, Softball, BEST hub and the Blacktown Disability Sports Centre.

Opportunity

We are seeking to appoint a Grounds Person Lead on a permanent, full-time basis who will provide leadership to an experienced grounds team. You will assist the Senior Team Leader in delivering year-round maintenance, preparation and renovation of turf surfaces at BISP. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail and the ability to work proactively under pressure to meet deadlines, ensuring surfaces of the highest quality.

Essential Qualifications and Experience
  • Certificate III in Horticulture (Turf), Sports Turf Management or a related area
  • Current class C driver's licence
  • Experience and knowledge of high-standard sporting field preparation and other areas including common reserves and landscaping
  • Chemical Application Accreditation AQF3 or equivalent
Desirable
  • Experience in maintenance and preparation of sand profile sports fields, turf wickets, softball and baseball diamonds
  • Current class MR driver's licence
  • Chemical Application Accreditation AQF4 or equivalent
  • Senior First Aid Certificate
  • Ability to work flexible hours and within a team environment
Remuneration and Benefits

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council's Enterprise Agreement.

  • Entry level for this position starts at $1,502.79 per week
  • 38-hour working week
  • Rostered Day Off (RDO) every fortnight
  • Employee benefits such as leave entitlements (where applicable), 12% employer superannuation, Fitness Passport, gym membership discounts, and social clubs
