Overview

Responsibilities

• Assist the Restaurant Executive Chef to manage guest service, team performance and development, and service enhancements
• Oversee Sokyo sushi bar by supervising and leading by example
• Train and coach Jr Sous, Commis and Demi Chefs; guide employees to perform kitchen operations
• Ensure outlets comply with HACCP standards by conducting daily monitoring and walkthroughs of the back of house
• Review stocktake daily and ensure appropriate orders are placed and stock received
• Rostering, ordering, training, and related duties

What we are looking for

• Jr Sous Chef / Sous Chef experience ideally with Japanese cuisine
• Relevant tertiary qualifications, such as Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery
• Strong understanding of produce, culinary techniques, and kitchen equipment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to commit to 40 hours per week with varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
