ABOUT THE ROLE

As an HD Mechanic at Norton Gold Fields, you are expected to conduct the maintenance and repair of the Paddington Operations Heavy Mining Equipment (HME), safely and efficiently. This role emphasizes safety, equipment upkeep, and teamwork for efficient mining operations.

  • Conduct regular work area inspections for hazards and defects.
  • Diagnose faults and perform repairs on Heavy Mining Equipment.
  • Execute planned maintenance tasks and estimate time/materials for jobs.
  • Undertake repairs on LV fleet, where required and ensure tools are in working order.
  • Manage costs responsibly, avoiding rework and unnecessary expenses.
  • Continuously review tasks for improvement, and maintain open communication with the supervisor.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Trade qualified withAUR30999 Certificate III in Automotive mechanicalor equivalent.(Essential)
  • Current, unrestricted Western Australian Class "C" Driver's Licence (Essential).
  • Previous experience in an Open-Pit/Cut mining environment (Desirable).
  • Strong commitment to safety and team player.
  • Ability to maintain:
    • CAT 777F , 789D , 775F Trucks
    • CAT 16M , 18M Graders
    • CAT D10T Dozers
    • Hitachi EX1900 , EX2600 , EX3600 Excavators
    • Komatsu PC1250 Excavators
