We are seeking highly motivated individuals to embark on a challenging yet rewarding career path as Apprentice Heavy Duty Fitters and Auto Electricians. This is an exceptional opportunity to establish a strong foundation in the auto electrical or heavy duty fitter trade, while being part of a supportive team that values safety, learning, and continuous improvement.
This role offers hands-on, workshop-based learning in a dynamic underground mining environment, guided by highly skilled and experienced tradespeople. You will gain skills in diagnosing and repairing engines and engine components, maintaining mobile plant braking, steering, and fluid power systems, servicing drive assemblies and transmissions, and understanding and working with electrical and electronic systems.
As an Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic, you'll learn to diagnose and repair complex mechanical systems, maintain equipment to optimize efficiency and safety, and develop your problem-solving skills through on-the-job training and formal education coursework. You'll also have the opportunity to work with a range of technologies and equipment, from diesel engines to hydraulic systems.
As an Apprentice Auto Electrician, you'll learn to diagnose and repair electrical systems in heavy machinery, understand vehicle circuits, wiring, and electronic components, use diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot faults, and apply safe and effective repair techniques.
You'll also be expected to commit to upholding health, safety, and security standards in your work and across the site, identify potential risks and contribute to our Zero Harm Operations, and demonstrate behaviors that reflect our organization's values and team culture.
About You- Currently reside within the Kalgoorlie area
- Previous Cert II in Engineering is advantageous or those wanting to upskill on their current trade
- Willingness to learn
- Teamwork focused
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Strong commitment to safety as a way of work
- Current C Class Australian Drivers Licence
