Overview

Main Purpose of the Role

Senior Service Manager / Depute Chief Social Work Officer role based at Perth & Kinross Council. This opportunity involves leading services within Children, Families and Justice Social Work, deputising for the Chief Social Work Officer as required, and influencing the organisation at senior levels across the Council, Health and Social Care Partnership and partner organisations. The role supports strategic and operational relationships and leads the social work profession alongside the Chief Social Work Officer.

Salary: 77,784 - £83,809

Location: 2 High Street, Perth PH1 5PH

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of social work professionals to deliver high-quality services.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to improve service delivery and outcomes for service users.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other agencies and stakeholders to promote integrated working and best practices.
  • Provide expert advice and support to the council, elected members, staff, service users, and their families.
Essential Criteria
  • A degree in Social Work or equivalent Social Work qualification.
  • Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
  • Significant experience in a senior management role within social work.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
