Overview

South Metropolitan Health Service (SMHS) invites applications for the Senior Food Service Assistant role. Peel Health Campus is a general hospital located in Mandurah, 75 km south of Perth, serving a large catchment with 206 licensed beds and comprehensive food services.

Our vision is Excellent health care, every time. SMHS delivers quality, safe and effective hospital and health services within a catchment area of more than 3,300 square kilometres in the southern part of Perth.

Position

The Senior Food Service Assistant participates in food preparation and distribution. This role provides supervision and support to Menu Assistants and Food Services Attendants, ensuring hygiene and food handling standards are maintained in all food preparation, production and holding areas in accordance with HACCP and Food Safety requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in food preparation and distribution in accordance with HACCP and Food Safety standards.
  • Supervise and support Menu Assistants and Food Services Attendants to maintain hygiene and safety in all food areas.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
Essential criteria / Qualifications
  • A covering letter attached with the application.
  • A current CV.
  • A statement addressing Essential selection criteria 2, 3 and 4 in no more than 2–3 pages.
  • Names and contact details of two current referees who can attest to your suitability for this role.

  • To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have a valid working visa (for fixed-term appointments) or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments).
