Overview

Network Administrator (24-month fixed term) – Sunwater, Brisbane City, Queensland, Australia

This is a 24-month fixed-term role ideal for a professional with proven experience in network administration of Operational Technology (OT) projects, including OT security, infrastructure, IT/OT segmentation, and SCADA architecture. The role supports the execution of multiple work packages aimed at separating Sunwater's ICT and OT environments and maintaining a resilient, state-wide network infrastructure across Queensland. Experience with SASE technologies and Palo Alto firewalls is desirable, and PCNSA certification is highly desirable to manage core network devices (switches, routers, firewalls, etc.).

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement network services to support operational locations.
  • Provide specialist input into the architecture of the Sunwater network in line with business requirements.
  • Ensure seamless integration of network infrastructure with operational technology systems.
  • Manage vendor relationships for network support agreements with managed service providers in line with contractual expectations.
  • Troubleshoot network issues and perform root cause analysis to identify and resolve problems.
  • Coordinate management of network devices and supporting assets in line with asset lifecycles.
Qualifications
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar network administration role.
  • Degree in computer science, IT or a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, collaborative skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Experience with Operational Technology networks, OT security, IT/OT segmentation and SCADA architecture.
  • Experience with SASE technologies and Palo Alto firewalls is advantageous; PCNSA certification is highly desirable.
