Role

Network Administrator (24-month fixed term)

Work. Sunwater is hiring We're seeking an experienced Network Administrator to support the execution of multiple work packages aimed at separating Sunwater's ICT and Operational Technology environments.

This is a 24-month fixed-term role, ideal for a professional with proven experience in network administration of Operational Technology (OT) projects - especially those centered on OT security, infrastructure, and the technical nuances of IT/OT segmentation and SCADA architecture.

This role goes beyond traditional network administration. You'll spearhead the maintenance and monitoring of a resilient, state-wide network infrastructure across Queensland, leveraging your expertise in SASE Technologies and PALO ALTO firewalls. Your PCNSA certification (highly desirable) will further empower you to manage and optimise critical components including switches, routers, firewalls, and a diverse range of network devices.

Other key accountabilities include:

  • Design and implement network services to support operational locations.
  • Provide specialist advice and input into the architecture of the Sunwater network in line with business requirements.
  • Ensure seamless integration of network infrastructure with operational technology systems.
  • Manage vendor relationships for network support agreements with managed service providers in line with contractual expectations.
  • Troubleshoot network issues and perform root cause analysis to identify and resolve problems.
  • Coordinate management of network devices and supporting assets in line with asset lifecycles.

You'll bring at least 5 years of experience in a similar role, a degree in computer science or IT or relevant field or equivalent experience and relevant industry. In addition, you will have strong interpersonal skills, be collaborative and able to work in a team environment.

This role offers an array of attractive benefits including an attractive base salary, 12.75% superannuation, access to banked time and TOIL, 17.5% leave loading and a genuine emphasis on work/life balance.

Water. Imagine a career where your work truly matters, where you are part of a team that values you and your contributions. At Sunwater, you will bring life's most essential resource to over 5,000 agriculture, urban and industrial customers, helping to sustain communities and drive water for prosperity across regional Queensland. We share the values of these communities — starting with caring about our people. Engage in fascinating work that is constantly evolving, allowing you to grow and shape a successful career and develop unique skills and experience in an industry brimming with opportunity

Life. At Sunwater, we believe our employees are our greatest asset, and we are committed to providing the support, resources and benefits that you need to thrive. That's why we offer a range of attractive benefits designed to help you bring your best every day, including:

  • My benefits: Access employee benefits and discounts hosted by Reward Gateway
  • My wellbeing: Prioritise your wellbeing with our comprehensive health and wellness offerings and programs
  • My time: Enjoy flexible working arrangements and the ability to purchase up to 4 additional weeks of leave, ensuring you can tailor your work to fit your lifestyle
  • My growth: We prioritise your professional growth with career development programs, study assistance, support for professional memberships, and structured early career pathways to help you build a rewarding and successful career

Now is the perfect time to join Sunwater and take advantage of the boundless opportunities for your career today and in the future. We are a diverse team and proud of the unique journeys and stories each of us brings. As we continue to grow, we need more diverse backgrounds and perspectives than ever before. We are committed to a barrier-free recruitment process and work environment. If you require any accommodations, please let us know so we can ensure you can fully participate in our recruitment experience, which includes reference verification, psychometric testing, background checks and a pre-employment medical evaluation to ensure the best fit for our team.
