Westmead Hospital Foundation is looking for a proactive, hands-on and values-led General Manager to lead one of Western Sydney's most impactful charities. Located inside Westmead Hospital, you will work in close partnership with hospital leadership and the community to support exceptional healthcare, research and patient care.

About Westmead Hospital Foundation

As the official fundraising partner of Westmead Hospital, the Foundation exists to connect donors, partners and supporters to the causes that matter most. We help bridge critical gaps in government funding by raising money for advanced equipment, lifesaving medical research, and programs that improve the hospital experience for patients and staff.

Our work is grounded in community and driven by impact. Every dollar raised stays local and helps support over 1.8 million people across Greater Western Sydney.

About the role

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the General Manager is responsible for leading the strategic and operational direction of the Foundation. You will guide all aspects of fundraising and operations, grow revenue streams, lead a passionate team, and strengthen stakeholder relationships across health, corporate, government and community sectors.

This is a rare opportunity for a hands-on leader to shape a growing charity that is trusted, visible and aligned to one of Australia's busiest hospitals.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver and evolve the Foundation's strategic plan in alignment with hospital priorities
  • Lead all fundraising streams, including major gifts, bequests, regular giving, events and corporate partnerships
  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with donors, clinical leaders and key community stakeholders
  • Represent the Foundation in public forums and across the Western Sydney community
  • Manage financial operations, compliance, HR and governance in collaboration with the Board
  • Foster a collaborative, values-led team culture that is focused on innovation and impact

About you

You are a purpose-driven and hands-on leader who thrives in dynamic environments. You bring strategic thinking, fundraising expertise and a deep understanding of how to build strong partnerships that deliver lasting outcomes in a healthcare and community centered context.

You bring:

  • Senior leadership experience in fundraising, philanthropy or mission-driven organisations
  • A proven ability to deliver growth through strategic planning, results oriented delivery and stakeholder engagement
  • Strong financial literacy and experience managing budgets and reporting
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills
  • A collaborative, hands-on leadership style and a deep connection to community wellbeing
  • Experience in or familiarity with the health sector is highly desirable
  • A connection to or understanding of the Western Sydney community is highly desirable

You will be supported by a professional and engaged Board and work alongside an experienced, passionate team based within Westmead Hospital.
