XL Precast is a family owned and operated manufacturer and installer of precast concrete products. We service the building and construction industry with precast walls, columns, beams and floors. Founded in 2011 the company has grown to over 60 team members. The growth of this family-owned business has come from the production of high-quality products coupled with exceptional customer service and long standing industry relationships.
Position Overview We are looking for a General Manager for our Sydney head office and production plant. The General Manager, reporting to the ownership team, is responsible for the overall operations at the Smithfield location, providing oversight and leadership of: Production, Sales, Dispatch, Maintenance, Yard, Quality Control, onsite installation and the office operations. With 6 direct reports and 50 employees at the site, the successful candidate will need to build and maintain a culture of performance, teamwork and safety, leading the team with a combination of a professional presence and attitude supported with performance metrics.
Responsibilities- Plan, schedule, and direct ongoing production requirements including assignment of personnel, material, and equipment to provide efficient operations, meet quality standards, delivery schedules and budget requirements.
- Direct and coordinate activities of Production Lead, Quality Lead and Laborers to meet Company goals and objectives.
- Work with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and overall profitability.
- Responsible for all plant personnel issues including, but not limited to, hiring, training, and discipline. Administer Company rules, regulations, and policies.
- Maintain and develop the company's safety program including, but not limited to, compliance with all WHS and other governmental and regulatory safety requirements.
- Plan, create, and implement continual improvement programs which give the organization a competitive advantage.
- Work closely with sales/marketing to promote the company and successfully win tenders.
- Participate in business planning activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 10 years of experience in precast with production/ project management required.
- Previous production management experience in a precast concrete environment preferred.
- General computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office.
- Good leadership skills.
- Engineering experience preferred but not required.
