We are seeking a highly experienced Operations Manager to launch and rapidly expand Firehouse Subs in Australia. We have a vision to become Australia's #1 sandwich choice with plans to open 160 stores over the next 10 years.

Responsible for all restaurant operations across the first location, you will be a driver of sales, operational standards and of course, the customer experience. You will be exceptionally hands on as we set up the first restaurant, including choosing the Store Manager and restaurant teams, and all training. You will then lead the ongoing operations to ensure that the restaurant operates profitably and delivers product and an experience to the highest level each and every day.

You will also be responsible for setting up and operating all subsequent locations as we build the brand initially across South-East Queensland, and then nationally, all well being supported by the Firehouse Subs team and have access to the people and resources of the largest Multi Brand restaurant company in Australia, Retail Food Group.

What you'll be doing

• Lead the successful launch of the Firehouse Subs brand in Australia – starting with Southeast Queensland

• Oversee all restaurant operations at the first store, ensuring high standards in sales, service, and product delivery.

• Recruit, train, and develop the Store Manager and restaurant teams for the first location.

• Manage the day-to-day operations to ensure profitability, operational excellence, and a consistent, high-quality customer experience.

• Drive sales performance and operational standards across all current and future locations.

• Plan and execute the rollout of additional restaurants, starting in South-East Queensland and expanding nationally.

• Collaborate closely with the Firehouse Subs support team and Retail Food Group to leverage national resources and systems.

• Uphold and represent the Firehouse Subs & RFG brand values as the business scales across Australia

What we're looking for

• Proven experience in QSR, retail, or other fast-paced, high-growth sectors

• Strong track record in managing company-owned locations

• Hands-on leadership in setting up and operating restaurant locations

• Experience recruiting and leading high-performing store and restaurant teams

• Operational expertise to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality food and customer experience

• Ability to drive sales and uphold exceptional operational standards

• Experience in scaling operations and opening multiple sites

• Skill in developing systems and tools to support rapid brand expansion

• Collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams (e.g. project management, general management)
