Join our team as the Head of Department - Surgery at VetPartners Australia and New Zealand.

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Specialist Surgeon to lead our surgical department at Sydney Veterinary Emergency & Specialists (SVES), a purpose-built, state-of-the-art facility offering comprehensive veterinary services including emergency care, surgery, medicine, and more.

About SVES

SVES provides a collaborative environment with top-tier equipment such as Synthes and Orthomed plating, E-Pen Neuro Burr, Biomedtrix THR systems, and I-Loc Interlocking Nail System. As part of the VetPartners network, you'll join a community of veterinary professionals committed to clinical excellence.

Role Responsibilities

  • Set the vision and strategic roadmap for the surgical department
  • Manage surgical caseloads and oversee the surgical team
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure optimal patient care
  • Mentor and guide interns and team members
  • Perform orthopaedic, soft tissue, neurologic, and emergency surgeries as needed
  • Uphold the core values of VetPartners and foster a collaborative culture

Candidate Requirements

  • Diplomate or equivalent status in Small Animal Surgery (ACVS/ECVS/FANZCVS)
  • Eligibility for Specialist Registration with the Australian Veterinary Board Council
  • Team-oriented with a passion for high-quality patient care
