Overview

MCIE is currently seeking an experienced Head of Department to oversee the delivery, management and operations of its health, aged care anddisability support qualifications.

The Head of Department, Health and Community Carewill actively contributeto achieving the institute's strategic objectives inpartnership with internal and external stakeholders.

Position

To be considered for this role, you will have:

- Hold a TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, an equivalent or higher qualification
- significant experience at alevel on operational level in the coordination or management ofhealth, aged and disability care qualifications
- demonstrated successful experience in supporting the submission of funding applications for health, aged and disability care qualifications
- demonstrated commitment to deliver quality vocational training and education programs
- comprehensive understanding of the Community Services and Health training packages, the 2025 Standards for Training Organisations, Education Services for Overseas Students (knowledge of VETDSS and the Skills First contract would be helpful)
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to manage a small team
- ability to contribute to ongoing review and continuous improvement of vocational education and trainingprograms
- ability to comply with reporting requirements and to maintain records in accordance with policies and procedures

Responsibilities

- establishingindustry links
- providingleadership to support the delivery of quality courses
- managing the health, aged and disability care course requirements and expectations ofeach student, work placement host employers and employers
- monitoring and supporting student progress
- establishing new and maintaining existingindustry links
- ensuring compliance with all standards, contracts and internal requirements for program delivery
- dissemination of relevant information to employers, students and industry
- maintaining personal professional development as it relates to the role
- supporting the marketing of the department and courses

The Head of Department, Health and Community Care is responsible for the delivery of the following qualifications:

- CHC24015 Certificate II in Active Volunteering
- CHC32015 Certificate III in Community Services
- CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support
- CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support
- CHC43121 Certificate IV in Disability Support
- CHC43315 Certificate IV in Mental Health
- CHC52021 Diploma of Community Services
- CHC53315 Diploma of Mental Health
- HLT33021 Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance
- HLT33115 Certificate III in Health Services Assistance
