We are seeking a visionary leader for the role of Head of Banking Department. This executive position requires an individual with exceptional expertise in managing complex transaction services and client relationships at the highest level. Your mission will be to oversee and enhance the delivery of essential banking services, ensuring that crucial payments are delivered seamlessly and efficiently. As Head of Banking Department, you will be instrumental in driving cross-departmental collaboration, providing expert advice, and ensuring alignment with the Bank’s values and strategic goals.

In your role, you will have substantial responsibilities for promoting the public interest by ensuring the reliable, safe and efficient delivery of payments, which provide essential support to the Australian community.

Reporting into the Assistant Governor Business Services Group, you will also inspire, guide and enable your dedicated team of highly skilled people to define and deliver on the both the department and Bank wide organisational strategy.

Your role
- Lead the Banking Department in delivering complex transaction services and banking solutions to major Australian agencies
- Oversee and improve the department’s capability in processing, maintaining impeccable service standards
- Navigate and drive the delivery of the department’s programs, tackling challenges with strategic insight and operational excellence
- Cultivate and manage high-profile client relationships, ensuring that our services meet and exceed the needs of our agency customers
- Contribute to the RBA’s broader mission by ensuring timely and accurate payments, reinforcing the importance of our services to national interests

Your background

We are seeking a highly motivated and inspiring leader to lead the Banking Department function and its key initiatives and deliverables. Your thought leadership and commitment to serving the public interest, combined with strong stakeholder management skills, resilience, leadership and personable nature will help set you up for success in this key senior Bank leadership role. To be successful in this critical role you will have a detailed understanding of the Australian banking landscape, an ability to produce high quality Business -as-usual and project-related deliverables and the capacity to lead a department (circa 100 staff).
