As the Manager Strategy, Rights and Advice, your primary objective is to provide high-level strategic and policy advice on the statutory responsibilities of the Children's Commissioner to identify and address issues affecting vulnerable children whilst amplifying children's voices.
Key duties include analysing policy, programs and services data, funding and legislative mechanisms to determine the impact on vulnerable children. Undertaking research and analysis to inform the development of sound child-centred policy advice.
This leadership role allows you the opportunity to provide support and strategic advice to the Commissioner and Assistant Commissioner on issues relating to vulnerable children and contribute to evidence-based submissions, reports and communications to influence policy, legislative and programmatic reforms.
To be successful, you require a demonstrated track record of leadership in policy and data analysis in the social welfare sector, strong strategic thinking and relationship management skills supported by excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to interact effectively with people of diverse cultures, children and young people, and government and community stakeholders is essential.
