Your New Role

Joining the dynamic General Insurance practice, you will work alongside industry-leading partners and a highly regarded team in a thriving practice. You will take ownership of your own matters, defending claims against professionals in sectors such as construction, financial services, legal, health, and medical (including medical malpractice).

Your responsibilities include:

  • Engaging directly with clients to develop and implement strategic approaches
  • Collaborating within a close-knit legal team, with Senior Associates providing leadership and mentorship to junior lawyers
  • Analyzing case materials and preparing evidence
  • Drafting legal correspondence for courts and external parties
  • Conducting witness conferences and preparing statements
  • Compiling briefs for counsel
  • Drafting court documents and attending hearings
  • Providing strategic legal advice to clients
  • Preparing instructions for expert witnesses

Your Skills Profile

  • 3+ years PAE in general insurance law
  • Experience in professional indemnity and financial lines matters
  • Experience managing files and running matters through court proceedings
  • A team player with a 'can do' attitude and a strong interest in defendant insurance law
  • Excellent technical, analytical, and drafting skills with keen attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize effectively
  • Experience supervising and mentoring junior lawyers (for more senior candidates)
