We are looking to employ a highly experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team. If you're a customer-focused master of payroll systems, with a passion for accuracy and compliance, we'd love to hear from you.

Job Summary

We are looking for a seasoned Payroll Specialist with extensive knowledge of multiple payroll systems, preferably with an accounting and/or system implementation background. You'll work autonomously and be responsible for managing and maintaining payroll processes, ensuring compliance and driving system improvements for our clients. The role will initially start with a few hours a week (most likely on a Monday and/or Tuesday) and grow as our client base continues to develop.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and process payroll for multiple clients across multiple payroll systems
  • Maintain expertise in multiple payroll systems (eg Xero, MYOB, Micropay, etc)
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations
  • Collaborate with teams both internally and at client level to resolve payroll discrepancies, streamline processes and provide positive interactions
  • Implement and optimize payrolls
  • Provide training and support where required
  • Analyse and troubleshoot payroll issues
  • Develop and maintain payroll documentation and reporting

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in end-to-end payroll processing
  • Accounting, Finance and/or HR/Recruitment background would be an advantage
  • In-depth knowledge of multiple payroll systems
  • Strong understanding of payroll legislation and compliance
  • Ability to interpret and implement Awards, and Agreements
  • Experience implementing and/or optimising payroll system
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work efficiently to deadlines
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Setup to work remotely
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills
