Our boutique-style small centre in Alfords Point NSW is looking for an experienced, passionate, and dedicated Centre Director/Centre Manager who will become the heart of a family-owned centre.
The successful candidate will be able to improve the centre, increase occupancy, and focus on quality customer service delivery. They will develop strong relationships with families, demonstrate leadership, and foster a creative learning environment for our children.
As the successful candidate you will work closely with the Approved Provider to support the educators and engage with families. This role has a crucial impact on the service's success.
About Us
Our early learning centre is a family-owned and operated childcare centre in Alfords Point, with a sister centre in Belmore NSW. The owner invests in staff wellbeing and is passionate about quality childcare and early education. As the Centre Director, you will guide daily operations while creating a culture of care, collaboration and excellence, reflecting kindness and commitment to quality and heart-driven early learning.
Key responsibilities- Leadership and Team Development: Be the heart of the team—lead, mentor, and inspire educators to deliver exceptional care and education. Create a culture of belonging and collaboration that encourages professional growth.
- Operational Management: Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring the centre runs smoothly and remains compliant with the National Quality Framework (NQF), National Regulations, and National Quality Standards (NQS).
- Family and Community Engagement: Be a trusted connection for families—communicate openly and warmly. Conduct centre tours for prospective families, showcasing the learning environment and the centre's strengths.
- Lead Continuous Quality Improvement: Discuss routines and how to make them more effective learning experiences. Maintain the centre's self‑assessment in a meaningful way to continually review and improve practice.
- Occupancy Growth and Reputation Management: Build and maintain the centre's reputation within the community. Drive enrolments through meaningful family engagement and showcasing the centre's offerings.
- Administration and Reporting: Manage enrolments, staff rosters, and OWNA software systems with efficiency and precision.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience as a Centre Director or Operational Manager in early childhood education.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education OR Diploma in Early Childhood Education with willingness to pursue an ECT qualification.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of the NQF, National Regulations, and NQS.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, conduct performance reviews, and manage conflicts with care and professionalism.
- Communication: Skilled in engaging with families, leading tours for new enrolements, and building trust in the community. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Compliance: Demonstrated expertise in maintaining compliance and implementing quality improvement plans.
- Certifications: First Aid and Asthma/Anaphylaxis certificates, a valid Working with Children Check, and a national police clearance.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to foster strong relationships with children, families and educators.
