Responsibilities
  • The Master is responsible for the seaworthiness and the safe, efficient and economical operation of the vessel, and for the safety of all personnel, vessel/cargo and equipment onboard.
  • The Master shall in a plain and clear manner give his standing and immediate orders.
  • The Master has the overall responsibility for reporting in accordance with laws and regulations.
  • When participating in ordinary navigation watches, to take operational responsibility as described in Chief Officers function description.
Qualifications
  • Certification as per STCW II/2 and other relevant items of the Convention and in accordance with Flag State rules and regulations.
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Good communication skills
  • Leadership skills
