As a seasoned maritime professional, you have the opportunity to join our team and take on the challenging role of Master less than 24 meters.

This position is ideal for an experienced Near Coastal Master seeking additional shifts during spring/summer.

The primary responsibility of this role is ensuring safe and reliable transportation between Perth and South Perth.

  • Navigation, mooring, loading, maintenance, and emergency procedures management
  • Conducting drills as scheduled
  • Managing disruptions and communicating with customers
  • Overseeing maintenance of deck equipment and engine rooms
  • Maintaining vessel cleanliness and organizing stores and equipment
  • Displaying professionalism and high work ethics
  • Ensuring timely arrivals/departures in compliance with regulations

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven leadership and people management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously for extended periods
  • Good vessel handling knowledge
  • Flexibility, reliability, and customer service experience
  • Ability to handle difficult situations
  • Well-presented appearance
  • Marine tourism industry experience (desirable)

  • Master less than 24m NC – Essential
  • Marine Engine Driver – Essential
  • First Aid and CPR Certification – Essential
  • Current Driver's Licence – Essential
  • Knowledge of Safety Management Systems and WHS Regulations – Essential
  • Commercial Marine Experience – Desirable
