What You\'ll Be Doing

The Clinical Leader expert clinical services, clinical governance and support to a multidisciplinary team of mental health clinicians, for children and young people up to 18 years of age presenting with symptoms of mental illness, and/or risk issues.

Selection Criteria
  • Tertiary qualifications and current registration with AHPRA for Registered Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, OR Tertiary qualifications and eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers for Social Workers OR Bachelor of Health Science Mental Health for Welfare Officers.
  • Demonstrated high level clinical and consultancy skills and knowledge of assessment and evidence based interventions with children, adolescents, and their families/carers experiencing high level acuity of mental health issues including successful post-graduation experience in the provision of mental health services. For Registered Nurses at least 5 years full time equivalent postgraduate experience with postgraduate tertiary nursing qualifications in mental health with at least 3 year's fulltime equivalent experience in the speciality field or current enrolment in or commitment to enrol in an approved postgraduate course within the next 12 months.
  • Proven ability to think critically, problem solve and make timely, sound clinical decisions whilst working autonomously.
  • Demonstrated expertise in clinical leadership and clinical supervision to mental health clinicians from all disciplines, upholding standards of clinical practice.
  • Demonstrated high level of knowledge and understanding of the legislative framework for working with children and adolescents with mental health problems, including a thorough understanding of the NSW Mental Health Act (2007), and relevant NSW child protection regulations.
  • Current unrestricted drivers\' licence and the ability to maintain. Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires. This may involve driving long distances.
