Our client, a leader in engineering design for Australia's energy infrastructure, is seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of multidisciplinary designs for HV substations and renewable energy projects.

About the Role:

  • Lead end-to-end design management for HV substations and eBOP systems on wind, solar, and BESS projects (brownfield & greenfield).
  • Coordinate internal and external multidisciplinary teams across primary, secondary, civil, structural, and protection/control engineering.
  • Engage with procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure technical excellence and timely project delivery.
  • Manage design reviews, interface management, documentation, and quality assurance through all project phases.
  • Liaise with clients, OEMs, NSPs, and subcontractors for integrated and compliant project outcomes.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers, driving technical growth within the team.

About You:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (CPEng/chartership preferred).
  • At least 10 years' experience managing HV substation and renewable energy project designs.
  • Proven experience delivering complex multidisciplinary engineering solutions on time and within budget.
  • Strong technical knowledge of HV substation, eBOP, protection and control, and SCADA integration.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Collaborative and proactive approach; able to thrive in a high-performance, fast-paced environment.
