About You

You're a diploma qualified engineer with a solid foundation in mine safety, auditing or regulatory compliance. You've spent the last 5+ years developing your skills in coal mining operations, including statutory auditing, safety inspections, and risk assessment. You're proficient in using photographic and inspection equipment for underground environments. You have a strong understanding of coal mining regulations, safety standards, and compliance requirements. You can interpret mining blueprints, schematics, and engineering plans. More importantly, you thrive in a team of professionals who care about doing things right — and doing them well.

About The Role

As a Statutory Auditor, you will conduct comprehensive inspections of underground mine structures, equipment and colliery surface infrastructure within the Illawarra region. You will document conditions, photograph equipment and identify risks. After each inspection, you will compile risk profiles and remediation reports, ensuring compliance with relevant safety regulations and Australian mining standards.

What You'll Bring
  • Diploma in Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in coal mining operations, including statutory auditing or safety inspections
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce detailed technical reports
  • Willingness to work in physically demanding, underground environments and adhere to strict safety protocols
