An exciting opportunity has presented itself for a highly skilled and self-motivated individual to join the Compliance and Operational (Schools) Unit on an ongoing basis.
The roles and responsibilities of the Audit Officer (Schools) are:

- undertaking internal audits (school-based) either as part of the Internal Audit Plan (IA Plan) or in response to ad hoc requests (requires willingness to travel extensively across the State of Victoria from time to time as part of delivering the audits)
- administration of the department's school audit follow-up process
- assisting in the school-based agreed upon procedures program
- assisting in preparing reports and briefings for the Audit and Risk Committee, the Executive Board and statutory authorities or other stakeholders as required
- assisting in the development of a risk based internal audit rolling plan and program
- in consultation with the Conduct and Integrity Branch, the role will also provide advice to schools on minimising the risk of fraud
- assisting with audit and risk-related business/process improvement initiatives and contributing to the provision of advice and assurance support to management on matters of governance, compliance, controls and risk management
- working closely with business areas within the department responsible for financial and operational activities, other auditors and the Victorian Auditor-General's Office financial auditors
- building strong relationships with business areas and acting as a trusted advisor.

This role may also be required to undertake other tasks such as assisting in the corporate audit follow-up process, maintenance of audit tools and assisting with the division's activities as required.
