Financial Leadership Opportunity

Sazerac AUNZ is a dynamic spirits company with a rich history spanning nearly 400 years. Our organization has grown into an independent American company thriving in Australia and New Zealand, driven by world-class spirits and award-winning brands.

This role requires a seasoned finance professional to lead financial control, local treasury management, financial planning, accounts receivable and payable for AUNZ. As a senior leader, you will manage the local finance team while acting as the key link between Australia and our US-based finance teams.

This leadership opportunity demands a resilient finance leader who can navigate a fast-paced environment and build processes and controls to best practice. You will ensure compliance with all statutory, tax and legal requirements, providing timely analysis to support decision-making and help us achieve ambitious growth targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead general accounting operations, preparing financial statements according to GAAP and Sazerac standards.
  • Oversee statutory, tax and audit requirements, ensuring compliance with Australian Taxation Office (ATO) regulations and external auditors.
  • Drive actionable insights through KPIs, turning financial and operational performance into measurable action plans.
  • Implement robust financial controls, testing, and updating as needed to safeguard financial integrity.
  • Direct internal control processes, ensuring fiduciary responsibilities and compliance.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash planning across AUNZ.
  • Partner with US finance and shared services teams to ensure seamless reporting and alignment.
  • Lead preparation for audits and statutory filings, liaising with external auditors.
  • Lead ERP implementation projects, preferably with Oracle experience.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development opportunities for the AUNZ finance team, building successors and strengthening our culture.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in Accounting/Finance, preferably in FMCG or consumer products.
  • Proven success in process design, implementation, and improvement.
  • Demonstrated ERP implementation experience (Oracle highly regarded).
  • Qualified accountant (CA/CPA/ACCA) and experience with IFRS/US GAAP strongly preferred.
  • Strong time management skills with effective prioritization.
