Due the ongoing growth of our business, BMI Resource Recovery Services is recruiting for positions in the Eastern (Ipswich) corridor.

We are looking for an experienced Excavator Operator to join our civil earthworks crew. You'll operate well-maintained equipment for Excavation Operations.

Hours: Monday to Friday with the possibility of Saturday work. OT and penalty rates apply.

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years' Operating experience.
  • At least one year experience operating 70t+ Excavator.
  • Experience in bulk earth works and loading moxies / dump trucks.

You will also possess the following qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of construction processes, safety protocols, and regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with project teams.
  • Plant Licenses or Verification of Competency (VOC): Excavator.
  • Previous bulk civil/earthworks experience (highly regarded).
  • Ability to maintain equipment in a safe and operational condition and maintain accurate records of equipment usage and consumables.

The responsibilities of the roles include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting pre-operational checks to ensure proper equipment functioning.
  • Ensuring safe work practices including wearing required PPE, risk assessments, injury and incident reporting, and other WHS requirements.
  • Proven experience and, proficiency in operating heavy construction equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, daily logs, incident reports, pre-start checklists, daily running sheets as required by the project and company standards.

We provide continuous training and VOC for all our Plant Operators.
