The Opportunity
We are seeking Machine Operators to join our Carole Park plant on a permanent full-time basis. You will have experience and exposure within a manufacturing environment and be open to learn the necessary trade and skills to be successful. At James Hardie, we train and invest in our people to ensure we set you up for success. You will be open to work across a day and night shift and also be flexible to work a rotating shift pattern.
- Monitoring the flow of cement and other raw materials and products into machines, and adjusting controls to product run specifications
- Collecting and conducting quality audits on samples
- Operating machines in either production or finishing in a variety of roles including stacking, loading, driving etc
- Performing machine cleaning activities and participating in maintenance down days
- Carry out work in a safe manner, in accordance with safety procedures as applicable
- Ensure process efficiencies are achieved and maintained
- Ensure production is in line with the specified production schedule
- Ensure product quality is in accordance with relevant specification and that process checks are performed as required
- Actively participate in improvement projects
- Complying with all WHS safety practices and procedures
- Previous experience in a quality assurance environment
- Forklift license is preferred but not essential
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of safety in the workplace
- Ability to use computers for the entry and retrieval of process data and machine operation
- Strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills
- All successful candidates will be required to undertake a pre-employment medical including drug & alcohol screening
