The Opportunity:

We're seeking a proactive and hands-on Maintenance Manager to lead the site engineering and maintenance function at our Carole Park board plant. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll be responsible for leading the mechanical and electrical teams to maintain a safe, high-performing and reliable manufacturing environment.

This is a key leadership role requiring a strong engineering background, a focus on preventative maintenance, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead a team of supervisors, trades, and planners across electrical and mechanical disciplines.
• Ensure full compliance with safety and environmental policies, while promoting a culture of proactive hazard identification and risk mitigation.
• Oversee preventative maintenance, equipment reliability and downtime minimisation.
• Drive maintenance systems, cost controls and accurate spare parts management.
• Collaborate with production and scheduling teams to ensure plant availability and responsiveness to customer demands.
• Support workforce planning, training, succession development, and recruitment.
• Identify and lead improvement projects in line with site and national priorities.

What you'll bring to the role:

• Extensive experience in engineering leadership within FMCG or manufacturing environments.
• Strong people leadership capability with a focus on team building, engagement and accountability.
• Demonstrated ability to drive asset reliability, implement lean practices, and optimise performance.
• Sound understanding of maintenance planning, cost control, and risk management.
• Excellent communication, planning and stakeholder management skills.

Experience in the corrugated board or packaging sector will be highly regarded, but not essential.
