What you'll be doing
The Clinical Nurse Consultant provides expert clinical advice to patients/clients, carers and other health care professionals with complex healthcare needs within Child and Family. The Clinical Nurse Consultant is a clinical expert who, through leadership, facilitates excellence in evidence based clinical practice, education, research and professional leadership. The Clinical Nurse Consultant models the CORE (Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment) values of the organisation.
The position will sit in the newly formed Western Sydney Local Health District, Substance us in Pregnancy (SUP )team. The SUPS team will be responsible for providing a comprehensive nursing assessment and delivering interventions, including sustained home visiting, to address the clinical needs of pregnant women, mother and their children (until the age of 2). The position will be part of a medically led multidisciplinary team. Treatment services are based on the principles of Keep Them Safer (child safety & well-being), harm minimisation and the recovery model for addiction. The position may require occasional evening and / or weekend work.

Essential Requirements
Registration: Current Nursing Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency ( AHPRA)
Qualification: Approved post registration qualifications relevant to specialty deemed appropriate by Organisation.
Selection Criteria
Minimum five years full time equivalent post registration experience and in addition approved post registration nursing/midwifery qualification relevant to the specialty field or other such qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the facility Organisation
Proven clinical leadership skills and an ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in nursing practice.
Demonstrated effective communication and inter-personal skills across a variety of mediums and knowledge of the practice development framework for clinical practice.
Demonstrated involvement in the development/change of clinical practice underpinned by evidence based research.
Demonstrated ability to contribute to strategic and clinical service planning.
Proven skills in clinical teaching, the identification of education needs in the clinical area, and competency in the use of contemporary information systems.
Ability to apply clinical expertise in client-centred consultancy with the ability to work independently.
