About Newmarket State School

Newmarket State School boasts a vibrant and inclusive community, nestled in the inner-city suburb of Newmarket, Brisbane. With a steadily growing enrolment, the school is supported by a passionate and community-driven P&C Association that proudly operates three successful businesses:

Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) - current capacity of 150 students, but seeking to expand

Uniform Shop

Tuckshop - currently operates 2 days per week

We are currently seeking a dynamic, experienced Operations Manager to lead and oversee our businesses. This is a unique opportunity to contribute meaningfully to our school community, whilst bringing operational clarity and strength to services that impact hundreds of families each day. The successful applicant will be able to function autonomously demonstrating a high work ethic and commitment to operational effectiveness and will exhibit out-of-the box thinking to improve the effectiveness and operation of the P&C's businesses.

Have proven experience managing complex services, especially a 150-200-place OSHC

Demonstrate proactive leadership, composure and assurance in dynamic environments

Communicate with clarity and empathy, especially in community-led environments

Lead teams with confidence, establish effective systems, and make thoughtful, data-informed decisions

Enjoy meaningful collaboration with staff and our dedicated parent committee

Balance immediate needs with a clear vision for long-term sustainability

Possess a valid Blue Card (Working with Children Check) and First Aid/CPR certification, or the ability to attain

Have experience with childcare management software (eg. Qikkids, Xplor) and Microsoft Office Suite

Demonstrate experience in budget management and financial reporting across multiple business units
