Sales Operations Manager

Location: Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

About us:

As a distributor, we take responsibility for a brand in a given market. This includes managing vehicles and parts on behalf of an OEM from the factory gate or port, and overseeing the entire value chain, from logistics to sales to end users. We also provide Value Added Services throughout the vehicle lifecycle.

About the role:

Lead the sales team within your market to achieve results aligned with business objectives. Collaborate with central functions to enhance site performance and profitability. Through effective leadership and tactical planning, increase market share, improve customer experience, and implement growth and efficiency initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and develop high-performing sales teams across Inchcape to meet business goals, fostering engagement, capability, and a performance-driven culture.
  2. Work with central functions, Retail Centre Managers, and OEM partners to align operations with profitability and customer satisfaction targets.
  3. Drive market share growth and profitability by executing marketing strategies, identifying improvement opportunities, and leveraging digital technologies to streamline sales.
  4. Achieve financial KPIs across vehicle volume, gross profit, F&I, aftermarket sales, and cost management, while optimizing stock and forecasting.
  5. Promote a customer-centric culture that delivers exceptional service, maximizes lead conversion, and fosters repeat business.
  6. Maintain operational excellence and compliance across all sites, continuously refining processes to enhance sales efficiency and customer satisfaction.

About you:

  1. Proven experience leading high-performing sales teams, with a focus on accountability, performance, and development.
  2. Strong commercial and strategic skills, with P&L management experience, stakeholder influence, and a focus on customer and business outcomes.
  3. Excellent communication, leadership, and coaching abilities, capable of inspiring teams and guiding change.
  4. Automotive experience is preferred but not essential; a customer-first attitude, product passion, and collaborative skills with OEMs and stakeholders are key.
