Overview

As a Project Manager you will have responsibility for leading a small team to achieve the effective implementation of projects and activities within the Economic Development Program. You will work collaboratively with other Project Managers to ensure integration between projects and Programs across the organisation to deliver outcomes for the Torres Strait Development Plan.

Responsibilities

The key duties of the position include

  • Project Managers need to be flexible and respond to a rapidly changing context and environment.
Program Delivery
  • Support and assist clients to access the Program's suite of services.
  • Manage and monitor delivery of program outcomes, including identifying opportunities to improve program outcomes and make recommendations on program changes.
  • Ensure that program activities recognise and respect the unique Ailan Kastom of the Torres Strait.
  • Provide high level support and advice to the Program Manager and assist in the management of the Economic Development Program as required.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, policy development, managing and implementing projects related to economic development.
  • Preparing briefing papers, reports, project schedules, correspondence and other written documents for both internal and external audit.
Resource and Risk Management
  • Contribute and assist with the program budget and resources in order to achieve outcomes in the most cost effective manner. This includes coordinating with other Project Manager's to maximise organisational resources.
  • Manage program issues and risks, escalating any risks of a strategic nature to the Program Manager.
Relationships with Clients and Stakeholders
  • Identify and develop linkages between programs and policies and working collaboratively across the TSRA and the wider government and non-government sectors;
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to facilitate open communication in the identification and resolution of program related issues.
  • Represent the organisation at executive level and multi-agency / cross-government forums to report on progress of programs, identify opportunities for integrated service delivery and promote the organisation's capabilities.
Learning, People and Culture
  • Foster a collaborative team environment that shares lessons learned to ensure a continuous improvement approach is taken to project management and service delivery.
  • Foster strong relationships within and across the organisation to facilitate delivery of projects and share learning in growing project delivery capacity.
  • Develop and support staff to achieve the vision and objectives of the TSRA and to realise their own potential.
